Announcement

End of an ERA 1976-2025

It is with regret that due to the continued increases in costs to produce the Spotters Companion at a reasonable and viable cost, we have decided to end the NREA Publication of the Spotters Companion as at the end of 2025. The name NREA will also be removed.

We would like to thank all our supporters over the years including all our officials without who we would not have been able to run all our coach tours, arrange visits to works and attend open days.

NREA has been in existence since 1976, and was originally set up by David Wood, John Eden and John Byrne. From this we added officials who assisted running the tours. David Wood and John Eden retired from NREA in 1989.  John Byrne continued with the assistance of Bob Hemming(who compiled all the information for Spotters Companion) from 1989 to 2025.

NREA has supplied the content for Spotters Companion since edition one although was run under OPC and Haynes Publishing until 1990, there was a break in 1991 and NREA Spotters Companion continued as the Compilation and Headline Title.

Spotters Companion Edition 47 (2025) will be the final edition but we are looking to continue supplying back editions, we will be using the name spotterscompanionbackissues@gmail.com for information purposes, nreasalesandinfo@gmail.com and nreasalesandinfo@btinternet.com will also be removed.

NREA general costs have continued to increase over the last few years and we continue to strive to keep the costs down.

The 2025 Spotters Companion will cost £14.50, P&P will be kept to £3.00 up to £30.00 and £4.00 up to £55.00 then free postage from £55.01

Please note the sets of Spotters Companion 1994 - 2020 (now including 2020 Edition) are available priced at £46.00 plus £4.00 P&P due to the parcel weight.
